We know everyone is different; some need to read and learn and prepare in advance, and others have to wait until they get into the situation. Still, preparation has been shown to help most mothers succeed in breastfeeding, and we highly recommend that mothers and families prepare as much as possible in whatever way works best for them.

Prenatal consults
Prenatal consultations are also available, with breastfeeding education, answering any questions, a maternal exam if appropriate, and formulation of a breastfeeding success plan.
